Every year, the Indian Army will publish a provisional answer key for the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) so that Agniveer candidates can compare their responses and work out the easiest way to calculate their marks prior to the results. This document will not only provide the formally recognised answers for all shifts and posts (General Duty, Technical, Clerk/SKT, Tradesman and Women Military Police), but it will also provide a very brief "challenge" period to promote transparency. In 2025, approximately 30 lakh candidates undertook the online CEE across the 200 + Exam centres during the window between 30 June and 10 July.
Indian Army Agniveer Answer Key 2025 Release Date & Time
As of 12 July 2025, the Army has formally advised that the provisional answer key will be uploaded "shortly" on the Recruitment Portal, joinindianarmy.nic.in. The media reports that the provisional answer key will be loaded in the final week of July- or the first week of August, 2025 after the analysis of the raw data of responses from all thirteen regional language papers. Historically, the Army publishes the key within 15–20 days of the final exam date, so the current timeline matches past trends.

Subject- & Shift-Wise Paper Review
Preliminary recollections indicate General Knowledge was heavily based on current affairs between January-May 2025, Mathematics included the typical set of algebraic identities and Technical papers mostly tested basic electronics and applied physics. Candidate ratings for GD papers are "Moderate", Clerk "easy-to-moderate", Technical "long but manageable". The amount of difficulty across the ten exam shifts will vary by no more than (±3 questions) ensuring the curve for normalization will not be far apart! This uniformity will have implications to both provisional cut-off predictions and the overall quantities of objections submitted.
Objection Window: How to Dispute Answers
When the provisional key is published, candidates will have 48-72 hours to lodge their answers/objections:
- Log back on and select the answer(s) you want to object to (e.g. 1 - 4), and upload your documented proof (e.g. page from a book, official reference etc.).
- You will have to pay an objection fee (last year was ₹100 per question, 2025 fee will be detailed on the portal).
- You will be able to track progress in your dashboard - just know that refunds will be provided for fully upheld disputes.
A panel of subject specialists will review the submissions; the last key will be final and used for compilation of results.
Marking Scheme & Scoring
Now it's time to self-score with the official marking scheme:
- General Duty: +2 for right, -0.5 for wrong.
- Technical/Clerk/Tradesman: +4 for right, -1 for wrong.
Unattempted questions do not get penalised. Once you have matched your answers add up your raw score and divide by the paper max mark to find out your percentile before normalization occurs. Thoughts on whether you got more than the 50% and therefore is likely to be successful. A self-scoring system can help you make accurate; reliable decisions about plans for physical fitness test (PFT) preparations.
Expected Cut-Off Marks
The Army will publish an official cut-off with the outcome. As far as an expected score, coaching analysts are expecting cut-offs to be about 45 to 50% of total for GD and 40-45% for Technical & Clerk for a range of reasons: expected moderate difficulty and vacancies in the order of 25,000. The number of expected vacancies is still likely to differ by ZRO (Zonal Recruitment Office) and category of candidates (UR/OBC/SC/ST) and therefore expect these numbers to be very general. Final cut-offs will depend on any objections and the distribution of seats by post.
Declaration of Results Timetable
Result processing (the time between final key lock to result declaration) is typically less than two weeks. The current expectation is that the merit-list will be published in the second half of August, 2025. When published, the PDF will contain the roll numbers of the successful candidates. The results and individual scorecards/response sheets will be accessible in your login on the portal until the next recruitment cycle. It is important that you keep secure login credentials since additional requests for logging access may unnecessarily delay any further stages.
Steps After the Written Exam
Candidates that qualify for subsequent rounds need to clear:
- A Physical Fitness Test (PFT) that consists of a 1.6 km run, push-ups, 9 ft ditch and snake balance test,
- A Physical Measurement Test (PMT) in which height, weight and chest are measures will be conducted by category,
- A Medical Exam, All those deemed fit at medical exams will be long processed at the military hospitals,
- Document Verification, it will include original certificates, domicile certificate, character, and similar credentials.
The performance on each of the above will mail based on the candidates individual overall score, with normalized written marks to produce the merit-list under Agnipath scheme for Four years applicant.
