The nominees for the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards have been officially released, showcasing some of the best in daytime television in drama, lifestyle, instructional and culinary programming.
The overall top contenders for the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series award are still indelibly etched in the collective psyche of daytime drama viewers. This includes the majorly popular General Hospital (ABC), The Young and the Restless (CBS) and Days of Our Lives (Peacock). Depending on storylines and viewership, it is clear the rankings that have ranked these series as industry leaders.
Actors from all three shows are well represented in the major performance categories. In the Outstanding Lead Actor category, the nominees include:

Typically, the ceremony is held in the spring, but the 2025 ceremony is planned for October. This is part of a broader schedule adjustment from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). It will be televised on CBS, continuing their long history of coverage.
More categories for nominations - talk shows, travel, children’s programming, etc (all listed under the Daytime Emmy umbrella) - will likely be announced later today.

Streaming services such as Netflix, Roku, and Amazon Prime Video are becoming more present in the daytime categories which is indicative of how daytime TV continues to evolve beyond the cable footprint.
With the full slate of nominees still being released, viewers can expect to see a wide array of entertainment at this year's Daytime Emmys. Whether it is soap operas, cooking shows, or renovation shows, the nominations certainly reflect the landscape of the contemporary daytime television.
