With the release of The Bads of Bollywood, viewers were not just watching another OTT show they were witnessing an event. Watching was only the beginning — people started talking, posting, debating everything about the show. A selection of scenes was so good, they struck a cord with viewers and spread virally on social media, creating defining moments of the show.
This article selects five of these scenes — scenes that left audiences dumbfounded, entertained, shocked or curious— and investigates why they broke the internet. We will delve into what happened in the scene, what made it impactful (or outrageous), how people responded and what this says about Bollywood and OTT, and our culture.
Emraan Hashmi’s Cameo With Raghav Juyal — The “Kaho Na Kaho” Fan Moment
One of the most shared and praised moments of the series is Emraan Hashmi's cameo as an intimacy coordinator and the snippet of the scene where Raghav Juyal's character, Parvaiz, meets him. Parvaiz is a major fan of Emraan and in a ridiculous fanboy frenzy breaks into the song "Kaho Na Kaho" from Murder in front of Emraan in an unforgettable moment.
Why this scene worked:
Nostalgia: The song itself is nostalgic to many who grew up listening to the radio, watched music channels, or jammed in college. So, to hear Kaho Na Kaho was nostalgic in a new context.
Contrast & surprise: Here is this very serious cameo meeting, then somewhere in the middle Parvaiz BROKE into full fan mode - the contrast is hilarious, spontaneous, and relatable.
Fan culture: The moment represents the exact feelings of what many viewers feel internally - admiration, ecstasy, a moment of awkwardness when meeting someone you admire - it was relatable.
Emraan's aura: It felt like this show gave Emraan Hashmi the respect he deserves- not just a random cameo, but a moment built for him. Fans commented about how this felt like a tribute to him through this scene.
Audience reaction:
People clipped the moment, shared it with captions like “OG legend”, “Finally someone did justice to Emraan Hashmi’s presence”, “This scene peaked the show”, etc. It became a meme source, a trending clip, and a conversational point in tweets, reels, stories.
The “Sameer Wankhede Dig” Scene
In the early part of the series, we are introduced to a character described as a loud, stern officer who bursts out of a police jeep and declares "war on drugs," stating that the film industry is "riddled with drug problems." He says he is "part of NCG." NCG communicated with narcotics control. During the introductory scenes, the character's tone, looks and even mannerisms drew comparisons on social media to a real life officer who had involvement in a controversial case that had implications for Aryan Khan.
The virality:
Subtext + personal stake: Because of Aryan Khan's own connections to a past drugs-case controversy, viewers saw this representation not just as fiction, but also potentially a personal statement on his part in response or commentary.
Bravery: It is brave to lean into a scene that you hope won't be misunderstood as a poke at someone of the same name in real life. To develop that sort of meta commentary adds a enigmatic layer to your piece, and that is, undeniably, interesting for many.
Discussion + memes: The immediacy of fans and viewers to begin discussing the scene and what it all meant whether homages, insults or criticism or parody resulted in a household topic of debate all over social media. "Did you see that?" posts lit up all social media platforms.

Premiere Red Carpet — Bobby Deol’s Attempt To Make Aryan Khan Smile
At the launch event (before or around when the series released), one sweetness and candidness moment went viral: Bobby Deol, in the red carpet moment, attempts to get Aryan Khan to smile in front of the paparazzi. Aryan Khan, an actor, was young and publicly making a directorial debut, worried about the pressure and weariness of the moment and flashes coming at him. There was something really special regarding Bobby's initiation, and whatever Joseph's gesture was (holding Bobby's hand or a type of affectionate move) really warmed hearts (online and offline).
Why it hit a nerve:
Human connection: We see the glitz, the shine, the glamour, the posing. But genuine micro-exchanges of warmth between industry people (and across generations) often seems rare, and in the industry, it particularly seems precious, given the glamour.
Symbolism: Aryan is literally, and figuratively BUZZING to know there is a big deal (he was the talk of the event). Bobby is from that era, supporting him by just smiling back at him - happens to represent all the things - past, legacy, support, hope.
Shareable: It is the same quality we see in Instagram or X reels or this warmth in an emotional moment - a nice balance of speed, emotion, visual glam but also warmth.
The Shiney Ahuja / Maid Pushpa Parallel Scene
The character of Shaumik exhibits bad behaviour towards his maid, Pushpa, asking her to bring clothing and underwear for him; it is a power relationship with an element of cruelty. Later, it comes out that Shaumik is in a romantic relationship with Pushpa. While the show does not specifically reference a real case, the parallels many viewers found with the Shiney Ahuja case, which was also about domestic help, stands out.
Why did it make a stir:
Makes contact to a sensitive nerve: The power dynamics, the employer/maid, domestic labour, romantic relationship -- all loaded with social context, legal context, moral context (especially in India).
Speculation & Rumour: Because so much of the public memory still holds this case, any similar scene is then hyper-analyzed: is it inspired, is it commentary, is it insensitive? These questions multiply.
Morality + Curiosity: People want to know - how far is the show going? Is it just entertainment, is there message, is there critique?

The Public Confrontation At The Awards
In a subsequent episode, at a big film-awards function, the hero (Aasmaan) receives the award for Best Actor. Backstage, Karishma reveals that Ajay (her father) intervened to destroy Aasmaan's work (using under-the-table deals and video blackmail). This prompts Aasmaan to confront Ajay in front of people. Ajay has a response; things escalate; a scene ensues; possible physical altercation.
Why this broke the internet:
High Drama + Tension: Red carpet or awards show scenes always succeed emotionally. Add betrayal, revelation, exposure -- yeah folks love that.
Familial dynamics: It's not only about politics of the industry; it is father/daughter, friend, loyalty, betrayal -- all things human people can connect with.
Cliffhanger material: The tension, public scandal, humiliation, loyalty, media glare -- it becomes an experience for people to share, discuss, and unpack.
