Okay, so, you know how much I loved the first Accountant movie? Well, get this – the sequel, The Accountant 2, is finally hitting Prime Video this Thursday, June 5th!
What's the Deal with The Accountant 2?
It's been almost a decade since we last saw Ben Affleck as Christian Wolff, the autistic genius who moonlights as a forensic accountant for some seriously shady clients. This time, an old acquaintance turns up dead with a cryptic message: "find the accountant." And honestly, who could resist a challenge like that?
This isn't just a solo mission for Wolff though. He's got some family drama to tackle – he recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Braxton (Jon Bernthal), to help. Together, with the help of U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they’re digging into a major conspiracy. But, naturally, they become targets of some seriously ruthless killers. Think high-stakes action, intense close calls, and a plot that keeps you guessing.

- J.K. Simmons - plays a key role, but let's just say his screen time is… shorter than expected!
- And a bunch of other talented actors rounding out the cast!
What Critics are Saying...
USA Today's Brian Truitt gave it 2.5 out of 4 stars. He described it as a "crime thriller sequel that's not as winning but still mostly satisfying". He points out that the sequel dials back on the accounting and amps up the action and comedy, which sounds...interesting. I'm always keen to hear different perspectives on films.
How to Watch (and why you should!)
The Accountant 2 is streaming exclusively on Prime Video starting June 5th. If you’re already a Prime subscriber, it’s a no-brainer. But even if you’re not, I feel like this movie is worth considering a short-term subscription for. The original Accountant gained a cult following and this sequel looks like it aims to keep the momentum going. It promises some seriously intense action sequences, a compelling storyline, and the return of the amazing Ben Affleck in a role that has become truly iconic.
