Bobby Sherman, a leading pop star and teen idol of the 1960s and '70s, has passed away at the age of 81, confirmed his wife Brigitte Poublon. He died at the couple's home in Encino, California after a struggle with stage 4 cancer, and Poublon said he died peacefully.
Sherman was known for his music and work in the television industry. He was first noticed as a regular on ABC's Shindig! and he had a lead role as Jeremy Bolt in the television series Here Come the Brides.
At the peak of his career, he released a series of pop hits with songs like "Julie, Do Ya Love Me," "Easy Come, Easy Go," and "Little Woman" that earned him gold and platinum records.
Actor John Stamos, who credited Sherman as a personal hero, was one of many public figures who shared emotional tributes about Sherman online.
He asked his wife about the past days of his life, saying he was brave and full of light until the end, and remembered the times he sat beside her as she read him letters from his fans.
Survived by his wife, two sons, and six grandchildren.

From Pop Icon to Public Service Hero
Despite stepping away from public life in the 1980s, Bobby Sherman was involved in an equally important career after his stardom. After years in red carpets and superstardom, Bobby trained as an Emergency Medical Technician and was later a medical instructor with Los Angeles Police Department. He was sworn in as a deputy sheriff in San Bernardino County.
In 1999, Bobby was recognized as LAPD’s Reserve Officer of the Year, a great honor recognizing his commitment to public service. He worked continuously to teach officers and serve the community medically, which truly illustrated his commitment to world around him and other people.
Outside of law enforcement, Sherman continued to partner with his wife to raise money for charitable purposes. Together they created a great foundation to support underprivileged children in Ghana.
Throughout his worldwide fame, Bobby Sherman remained humble and committed to helping others—his life was not a personal pursuit, but a pursuit to truly make a difference in the lives of others.
Born on July 22, 1943, in Santa Monica, California, Bobby Sherman spent his entire 70-year life doing an incredible journey first as a pop icon, but a remarkable journey second as a dedicated community servant.
