Rap superstar Cardi B (Belcalis Almanzar) has been officially cleared in a high-profile $24 million civil assault lawsuit filed by her former security guard, Emani Ellis.

The case, linked to an alleged 2018 incident outside a Beverly Hills OB-GYN clinic, ended quickly in Cardi’s favor. A California jury took less than an hour on September 2, 2025, to decide that the rapper was not liable for assault, battery, or emotional distress.

According to Reuters, key testimony from a clinic receptionist supported Cardi’s version of events, confirming there was no physical altercation. Cardi herself described the lawsuit as “frivolous” and hinted she might take action against false claims in the future.

After the ruling, Cardi expressed relief, saying the case had caused unnecessary stress. She also thanked fans for standing by her throughout the trial. Now, Cardi has confirmed that her long-awaited second studio album, titled Am I the Drama?, will be released on September 19, 2025, through Atlantic Records. Along with the album, she has also announced her first-ever solo tour, marking a major return to the stage.
