Coronation Street aired a tense build-up and emotional twist involving two of the younger characters, Summer Spellman and Nina Lucas. This all started as a simple little house party only to spiral into a disturbing night after a dose of drugs ended with severe consequences for the people in attendance.

This drama unfolds at Aadi Alahan’s house with him throwing a small get-together for the summer with some friends. Shortly after, Brody Michaelis shows up and tries to sell LSD.

Aadi quickly kicked him out, but he then goes and slyly pours the LSD into cups full of drinks on the table in plain sight. Later while not knowing how dangerous it is, Summer and Nina decide to take the drug.

The effects hit quickly. Both girls start to panic and are confused. They misread a scene in which they believe the police have come to the party and in panic they decide to leave. However, it was just DS Swain and Carla there for unrelated reasons.

A Frightening Night Leads to Serious Consequences

Summer and Nina are terrified and still under the influence, after doing a runner from Simon's party with panic driving their need to run. The fear takes a turn for the worse when another guest, Lauren Bolton, has a serious reaction to the drug.

The consequences of the party start to unfold rapidly as the police start to ask questions, and then as adults get involved to flag their concerns, all adding to an environment of unease and anxiety.

The day after, Summer and Nina try and piece together what has happened. Nina is ready to tell the police everything, but Summer is more hesitant and uncertain about what they remember or what to do going forward.

Later, Nina confided in Roy, and Aadi is feeling pressure as police inquiry turns to focus on what happened in his house.

In a recent statement on Twitter, Harriet Bibby - who plays Summer - makes clear that they want this story to explore how even one bad decision can have damaging consequences in the long term and that over the coming weeks the show will explore how the characters deal with the implications of that night at the party - both for their emotions and legal ramifications.
