Kelly Clarkson announced a delay to her Las Vegas residency, Studio Sessions, which was to begin July 4 at Caesars Palace. The singer said her voice was fatigued during rehearsals and that she needs time to rest and rehabilitate. Therefore, the first two weekends of shows have been pushed back.
Clarkson provided the update on social media and expressed disappointment, but said her priority is to give her fans the best show possible.
She said that she didn't want to take the chance of permanent damage to her voice and stressed how important it is for her to give her shows at the highest level.
Caesars Palace noted that fans holding tickets for shows will be able to either request a refund or rebook the tickets for new show dates once they are announced.
Clarkson thanked the fans for their patience and support and promised to return as soon as her voice is ready. This is her second residency in Las Vegas, following a successful residency last year.
Although the news was disappointing, Clarkson's focus remains on her music and her health, and her fans are responding positively to her recent decision to rest her voice before taking the stage again.

Clarkson releases first independent single under new label
In addition to sharing the news that she has postponed her residency, Kelly Clarkson has released a new single. The song, entitled Where Have You Been, was released on May 2 and is being released through her own record label, High Road Records.
The song first debuted on her SiriusXM channel, The Kelly Clarkson Connection, but is now available on major streaming platforms.
This will be Clarkson's first release as an independent artist. In a recent interview, she said that being her own label allows her more freedom and flexibility in how and when she releases music.
She no longer has to choose whether to release stand alone singles or a full album; she can do whatever she feels is right.
Where Have You Been has a different sound with pop and rock elements mixed in. Fans seem to be responding positively to the song, praising the lyrics and Clarkson's voice. The movement toward independence signals a change in Clarkson's approach to her career as she balances being a singer, performer, and daytime talk show host.
Clarkson has said more music could be coming soon, although there is no existing confirmation of a full album. For now, the new single represents a significant milestone in her journey as an artist and label owner.
