Despite starting on a slightly mediocre day, Vijay Deverakonda's latest project Kingdom is officially on its first weekday in the box office race with steady collections. On day five (Monday), Kingdom earned an estimated ₹0.72 crores which brings the domestic total to ₹41.28 crores net.
While losing ground of the weekend should have been predicted, at least the numbers show a solid interest from audiences so far which is likely the reason it is still in the box office over its weekdays especially in the Telugu-speaking markets. The Monday numbers indicate that Kingdom is holding up reasonably well after a good second weekend.

Tamil (2D) Regional Occupancy Report – Day 5
While the Telugu version of Kingdom remains king at the box office, the Tamil (2D) version has established a presence in a few cities in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. However, by Day 5 (Monday), the Tamil version usually had occupancy for afternoon and mornings.....with no active evening or night shows.

Particular Show Occupancy (Tamil 2D) – Five day Aggregate:
- Morning Shows: 9.99%
- Afternoon Shows: 12.02%
- Evening/Night Shows: No occupancy reported
The Tamil version had a little better occupancy in towns like Pondicherry, Dindigul and Trichy. Chennai had the most earlier shows; occupancy was moderate, but not a huge crowd. The film was not widely branded or promoted to the Tamil audience, as these data shows the film Kingdom still engaged with regional audiences in certain pockets.

What’s Contributing to the Film’s Success so Far?
Several things are driving Kingdom's steady run:
- Vijay Deverakonda's star power: Deverakonda has a dedicated fan base in the South, which has resulted in regular footfalls, particularly for the Telugu version.
- A good blend of genre appeal: The film's combination of action and emotional drama has garnered a favorable response from youth as well as family audiences.
- Word of mouth: Although the reviews have been mixed, the general audience reception has been more favorable to carry the film through the weekend.
Political Controversy Keeps Spotlight on the Film"
Kingdom also finds itself in the midst of political discussions. In Tamil Nadu, the Naam Tamilar party objected to certain characters they claim were not portrayed accurately reflecting Sri Lankan Tamil leaders. There were minor protests, but it didn't appear to have a negative impact on the success of the film.
In fact, given the political controversy, the film may have gotten more exposure and greater undue public intrigue in Tamil-speaking areas.
Will Kingdom Maintain Momentum?
The Day 5 numbers reflect the customary drop-off that just about every film exhibits following the weekend. Nonetheless, the fact that Kingdom eclipsed the ₹40 crore mark in just four days indicates the momentum was strong. Now, we need to see how it holds up during the weekdays and if it can push toward ₹60 crore in its first full week.
The makers are supposedly discussing a sequel and the positive engagement from audiences may result in the announcement/confirmation coming shortly.
Final Word
Kingdom is turning out to be a solid theatrical venture for Vijay Deverakonda despite the tough competition and political noise around it. Although Monday's revenue has dipped, Kingdom seems to be on its way to becoming one of the better Telugu releases of the year, at least in terms of how it is performing so far.
Stay tuned as we monitor its performance throughout the rest of the week.
