Warner Bros. has a feature film "Mamba Forever" in development called With the 8th Pick, based on the moment Kobe Bryant entered the NBA during the 1996 Draft. The drama, based on a spec script from Alex Sohn and Gavin Johannsen, seeks to tell the story of the pressures and dynamics behind the scenes that were involved in the start of the Lakers legend's career. 

Record-Bound Sports Card Auction

The auction for a 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs card of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan is ending and already at $7.015 million (with fees) which is already more than the previous record for a basketball card. The auction ends on what would have been Kobe's 47th birthday. Some say the card may even go for a final price above $8 million, possibly even above $10 million.

Special Nike Shoe Drop: Kobe 3 Protro “Halo”

Nike dropped the Kobe 3 Protro "Halo" on August 23. The Kobe 3 Protro “Halo”, being updated Kobe’s third signature shoe to include updated technology and improvements to cushioning, traction, and added updates to the shoe's design and special details, also include diamond symbols in honor of Kobe's first daughter Natalia (middle name: Diamanté). The Kobe 3 Protro Halo dropped August 23 at 10 a.m. EST on the Nike SNKRS app for a retail price of $210.
