Paramount+ renewed Landman for Season 2 on March 12, 2025, after the first season became its most watched original series on the platform.

Fort Worth, Midland, Springtown, and Weatherford were among the first filming locations for the season, which commenced in early April 2025.

It really does feel like Taylor Sheridan and his team are always busy, and it does feel that everything came in a bundle, starting from a quick renewal and rolling the cameras, everything happened within a month.

Landman Season 2 Release Date: December 2025 Confirmed

During the Paramount Q2 earnings call, the executives disclosed that Season 2 would be available in December 2025.

The season was initially slated for a November premiere but has now been updated to December. Either way, we will finally get to see Tommy Norris in December 2025.

Landman Season 2 Cast, Sam Elliott Joins as Regular

The following actors form the original cast of Landman: Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, and Michelle Randolph were confirmed for Season 2 alongside Paulina Chávez, Kayla  Wallace, James Jordan, Colm Feore and Andy Garcia.

Sam Elliott becomes a series regular which is significant considering his previous collaboration with Sheridan on 1883.

Newly added to the roster are Guy Burnet as engineer Charlie Newsom and Miriam Silverman as admissions counselor Greta Stidham.

On the other hand, Jon Hamm is not returning as Monty Miller died in the Season 1 finale and “you don’t come back from that,” as Hamm himself said.

What’s the Landman Season 2 Storylines

Soaring to CEO in M-Tex Oil, Tommy is now in power, but the Season 1 finale leaves off with him in a power struggle or power alignment with their cartel boss Galino (Andy Garcia).

Tommy’s new position as described by Billy Bob Thornton is overwhelming, “he’s not just the landman now, he’s running the business,” with balancing loyalty, family, and covert deals.

We expect Demi Moore’s character, Cami, to have a greater presence. She is being shifted to new roles and is growing into her power in ways not seen from Season 1.

Continuing the promise of deeper family tensions alongside Cooper starting his own oil business and Tommy and Galino’s sustained corporate-criminal chess match counters the growing moral stakes of the show.

Where Landman Season 2 is Filmed?

The locals in West Texas have started noticing the cast at various local hot spots. For instance, the residents of Springtown thoroughly enjoyed the fact that Billy Bob Thornton and Jacob Lofland took pictures beside a church sign.

Filming extends to real oil and gas towns like Fort Worth, Midland, Stanton, Weatherford, which adds an additional layer of realism. During the early June shoots, local users captured and posted to TikTok and Instagram about spotting the crew.

Why Landman Matters: Impact & Sheridan’s Orbit

Season one performed exceptionally well, with Paramount citing it was their number one original series due to 14.9 million households watching it in the first 4 weeks.

From Yellowstone to Mayor of Kingstown, Taylor Sheridan’s series tend to trend, and Landman seems like it will fit right into that captivating and character-driven world.

The corporate oil transactions, cartel drama, real family tension, and Western setting provide a unique blend of corporate and family scandal, drama, and reality that a lot of viewers emotionally and thematically connect with.
