Mac DeMarco will announce a new album and extensive world tour across North America, Europe, and Asia between 2025 and 2026.
The Canadian singer-songwriter shared details of his new album Guitar that will be released on August 22, 2025. Guitar will be the first project DeMarco has released since his 2023 instrumental project, Five Easy Hot Dogs and marks a return to his indie rock sound.
The new album Guitar features 12 tracks, including the first single "Home," which dropped earlier this year. According to official details, Guitar was written, recorded, produced, and mixed entirely by DeMarco, a hallmark of his independent style, and was mastered by David Ives.
The album will strike the right blend of the zen, melodic style that DeMarco fans are accustomed to, but with a slightly more refined and mature sound.
To promote Guitar, DeMarco will kick off a large-scale tour starting in Los Angeles with a three-night run at the Greek Theatre from August 29 to August 31, 2025. The tour will include stops in several major U.S. cities such as New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, and San Diego before heading to Europe in October and November.
European dates will include performances in cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, London, and Dublin. The tour will continue in December with a Canadian leg that includes shows in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and several other cities across the country.
This tour will not be over in 2025, either. DeMarco has also scheduled shows in Japan and Hong Kong for February and March 2026, including tours of such cities as Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nagoya. Then in May 2026, he will be back in the United States for further touring for an extended second leg and playing cities like Las Vegas, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, and Santa Fe.
Tickets for the 2025 portion of the tour are already for sale and there are many dates close to selling out. Tickets for the newly announced 2026 dates will go on sale and go on sale Friday, June 27. Pricing (as always) will vary depending on venue and demand, but in general most general admission tickets will be priced in the range of $87 to $190.
The new tour will be the fans' first opportunity to hear tracks from Guitar, live. With a world tour that includes North America, Europe, and Asia, DeMarco's upcoming tour is among his greatest ventures.
DeMarco is ready to transition to the world stage from sitting quietly in his space. The new record represents what seems to be a renewed creative space for the artist and As a musician, looking back at his career from the days of 2 and Salad Days, this upcoming tour will give fans another opportunity to check where his sound is now.
