British singer Morrissey has surprisingly canceled his concert at Stockholm's Hovet Arena, scheduled for June 23. The announcement came just days after the singer had appeared in many venues across Europe while on tour.

Morrissey explained in a statement on his official website that he and the band were "travel-weary beyond belief" after performing in six different countries in seven days. Despite the good ticket sales, it proved impossible, logistically and physically, to cover so much ground, so they were left with no choice but to cancel the gig. Refunds are available from the original point of purchase.

Morrissey's statement expressed an undeniable sense of exhaustion but it did much more humbly laying the blame squarely on the music industry by(WWD)  stating that there is "zero music industry support" on this tour. Morrissey states that he has "not had radio play, is not being promoted, does not have logistical support" and therefore a demand for high priced tickets could not support a tour.

The singer also expressed frustration with his latest album Bonfire of Teenagers, which has been held up due to record label drama. In his statement to cancel this show Morrissey stated that it is disappointing because the struggle for artists finds its days difficult even when they are connected to fan.

Recent cancellations have shown it is a difficult time for Morrissey. He cancelled a show in Madrid earlier in June because of a sinus infection, let the fans down for two U.S. dates in May for the same reason, and although he confirmed he would like to relaunch the tour in Berlin on June 27, the Swedish cancellation emphasizes the physical and logistical challenges involved in international touring.

The cancellation of Morrissey's New York shows raises further questions about the future of Morrissey's tour and album release and suggest that without stronger industry infrastructure planning, it may possible to disrupt even the most prevalent artists.

Despite the cancellation, Morrissey is going ahead with plans and is committed to touring. He has set more dates in Berlin, and plan performances in Europe, Latin America, and North America. Fans will be watching if whatever shows he does, actually happen before he retires.
