What’s Streaming: 10 Major Titles to Watch July 19–20

Streaming services are releasing mind-blowing new titles this weekend (July 19-20), so there are a few things to watch with a fresh blaze of entertainment. It seems like everything is out: remakes and reboots with enormous budgets, sci-fi and techno thrillers, political dramas, and supernatural horror films. If you've been looking for a classic action movie or a nostalgic reboot, or if you're looking for the return of your favorite show, you can catch all the latest and greatest titles streaming right now on Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Disney+, and Paramount+, between July 19 and 20.

1. How to Train Your Dragon (Live-Action)

Platform: PVOD (Netflix-affiliated)
This is a live-action re-imagining of DreamWorks' revered 2010 animated classic. How to Train Your Dragon features a Viking village that fears dragons. The protagonist, a young boy named Hiccup, captures a rare Night Fury dragon, but befriends it after naming it Toothless. The pacing and story is similar, but the remake adds some visual and emotional enhancements inherent in a live-action platform.
Cast: Mason Thames as Hiccup, Gerard Butler returns as Stoick (Hiccup's Dad).

2. M3GAN 2.0

Platform: PVOD
The sequel to the hit 2023 techno-horror M3GAN, which sees the AI doll M3GAN coming back to battle a much greater enemy: a rogue military robot that is no longer under humanity’s command. M3GAN 2.0 ups the action and the stakes whilst retaining a darker tone to explore the ethical pitfalls of autonomous technology.

3. Wall to Wall

This Korean psychological thriller takes an everyday annoyance (noisy neighbors) and spins it into a gripping and slowly building confrontation. The build-up of annoyance, the unravelling of secrets, and the threat of violence brings a quiet, haunting film with sharp social critique.

4. Untamed

Platform: Netflix
A survival mystery thriller in a sprawling national park (land). A group of friends takes a hiking trip and one of them goes missing. The group hunts for the friend deepening their search until they conceivable clues that become disturbing and suggests worse things are at play.

5. The Summer I Turned Pretty (Season 3)

Platform: Prime Video
This is the last season of this coming-of-age romantic drama based on Jenny Han's novels. The plot follows Belly as she navigates a situation where she is torn between two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah, during their summer vacations. Season 3 will tie up years of personal growth, heartbreak, and self-discovery.

6. Heads of State

Platform: Prime Video
An action-comedy involving two powerful leaders--played by Idris Elba and John Cena-- who are forced to work together during a serious international incident. A chaos of explosions, banter, and unlikely working relations ensue and the movie is billed as half Mr. & Mrs. Smith, half The Interview.

8. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3

The follow-up series for the hit Star Trek has returned for its third installment. This prequel series is set before the original Star Trek series and follows Captain Pike and the crew of the USS Enterprise as they encounter strange new worlds. Season 3 will challenge more classic Star Trek morals, tackle exploration and build on character arcs.

9. Sinners
