Jurassic World Rebirth, the newest entry in the dinosaur franchise that has entertained audiences for decades, was recently released in theaters — but disappointment awaits those fans who were hopeful for a stinger after the credits rolled. The film does not include a post-credits or mid-credits scene, as confirmed by several trusted entertainment outlets after its July 2025 release.
This is a deviation from the trend of summer blockbuster entertainment that movies have invested in historically. Many blockbuster movies make use of extra scenes during or after the credits to provide additional entertainment or sweeten the pot for possible sequels, but Jurassic World Rebirth is focused on telling a full story — and does not plan on leaving it open.
There are no post-credits scenes either
In news shared by SYFY Wire, ComicBook.com, and other news sources, it appears that Jurassic World Rebirth wraps up its final scene and goes straight to credits, meaning that the movie has no post-credits scenes or vignettes to tease the future. Gareth Edwards, the director, also confirmed through other interview outlets that they intentionally ended the movie as its own discrete story and there was nothing built into that conclusion to form another sequel.
Unlike Fallen Kingdom, which produced a short post-credits clip in 2018 to suggest dinosaurs entering human's lives, Rebirth comes to a complete conclusion without giving any last minute surprises. This may be news for folks who regularly stay seated at the end of the credits until the last frame, but it is by the design of the filmmakers that made the decision to come to a conclusion rather than provide hints for sequels in the future.
Not including a post-credits scene doesn't mean this franchise is over. At the moment, we do not have any word yet on chances of a sequel being developed. What happens next in this new story may depend entirely on the success of the box office and the audience's reaction.
A New Starting Point for the Jurassic Franchise
Jurassic World Rebirth sets a new course of action for the franchise by providing a completely new cast and characters, rejecting the cast & characters from the previous trilogy. The new film stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, a scientist, who is leading a gang to collect DNA samples of some of the remaining dinosaur species, including the massive Mosasaurus and the flying Quetzalcoatlus, in a high-risk mission.
The film is set several years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, when a team of scientists and a gang of mercenaries land on a quarantined island, that is still populated with prehistoric creatures. The focus of the plot is on suspense, survival, and morality rather than global destruction. One of the criticisms of the previous movies was the focus on destruction, so it seems some critics have enjoyed the change in tone, returning to the suspense of the original Jurassic Park.
Director Gareth Edwards, known for projects like Rogue One and Godzilla, has built his experience on real-world locations and using practical effects wherever possible during filming. Shot in Thailand and Malta, Rebirth does everything it can to avoid that heavy CGI look that recent entries have embodied, attempting to deliver more realistic visuals and build real tension in the action sequences.
There is also a clear lack of legacy characters like Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) or Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), for instance. Instead, Rebirth opts to the start anew, introducing new faces, and as far as any past storylines we might link these new faces to - we can't. Even though Rebirth will certainly stand alone - and whether we see future films lie and die with it or not, it could stand alone aër than it otherwise would have with any connections.
So while you won't be rewarded with an easter egg or hidden clip after the credits, Jurassic World Rebirth has still given fans plenty of fun - including new creatures, and of course, new settings, all within a more serious, character-driven framework of storytelling. And for those of you who wanted to know if you should stick around and wait for a clip after the credits? You can safely hit the exit this time!
