Country music legend Ray Stevens is recuperating after experiencing a mild heart attack on July 4, 2025, at age 86. Stevens was taken to a Nashville hospital after he noticed chest pain. Doctors confirmed it was a mild heart attack and had to perform a heart catheterization.
Days after his heart catheterization, on July 7, Stevens underwent a minimally invasive heart procedure. His surgery went well.
After the procedure, Stevens was taken out of ICU and has started ambulating with assistance. Stevens’ team reported that he is doing well in rehab and thanked fans for their support. They went on to say "everything is still beautiful," referring to one of the songs that made Stevens famous.
Due to his health condition, all shows for the month of July have been canceled from his performance schedule which included the ones he had scheduled to do at CabaRay Showroom in Nashville. There are not mentions on his performance schedule for future dates.
His team will continue to monitor his progress and will post updates should anything change in his concert schedule.
