Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has officially started filming his next big project titled King, marking one of the most anticipated Bollywood films currently in production. The film is being directed by Sujoy Ghosh and stars SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan in a key role.
Sources from the film’s team have confirmed that principal photography began earlier this week. The initial shooting schedule is being kept under tight wraps, but insiders suggest a high-energy action sequence was filmed during the first few days.
This project is particularly special because it brings Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana together on the big screen for the first time. Suhana recently made her acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies, and King is expected to be her first theatrical release.
The film is being backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and co-produced by Siddharth Anand, the director of Pathaan and Fighter. Anand is also helping to shape the action design for King, which is reportedly a fast-paced thriller with emotional depth and dramatic storytelling.
What We Know So Far About the Plot and Cast
While official plot details remain under wraps, King is rumored to be a sleek action thriller where Shah Rukh Khan plays a powerful underworld figure, while Suhana Khan’s role may revolve around law enforcement or someone tied to his past. The dynamic between father and daughter on-screen is expected to be one of the film’s emotional highlights.
Director Sujoy Ghosh is known for gripping narratives like Kahaani and Badla, and fans are expecting a similar edge-of-the-seat experience in King. The screenplay is reportedly sharp, with fast cuts, strong character development, and intense dialogues.
A team of international stunt choreographers has also been brought in, indicating that the action sequences will match global standards. The film is expected to blend large-scale action with personal storytelling — a combination that worked well for SRK in Jawan and Pathaan.
The makers are targeting a theatrical release sometime in mid-to-late 2025. More updates are expected in the coming months, including a teaser or first-look poster.
