Robbie Amell on Upload’s Final Chapter - Tears, Tattoos & Goodbyes

Robbie Amell, the star of Prime Video's Upload, called the script for the series finale "the most beautiful thing I've ever read" in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He even texted creator Greg Daniels those words the night before the cast table-read for that episode. 
This quote illustrates how deeply impactful and meaningful the ending felt to him—not as just an actor, but as a participant on the story's journey.

Finale Memories: Cast Gets Tattoos

 Their seven years of working together on Upload, Robbie Amell and most of his co-stars — Andy Allo (Nora), Allegra Edwards (Ingrid), and Zainab Johnson (Aleesha) – got matching five-star tattoos. It was their way to commemorate the bond the show brought to the cast. One cast member, Kevin Bigley (Luke), elected not to do the tattoo. He joked he wasn't ready to get tattoos yet. 

What Happens in the Final Season

The fourth and last season—a four-episode finale—premiered on August 25, 2025.
A new chapter:

• A sentient AI goes rogue and threatens Lakeview and the physical world
• The characters face emotional and moral dilemmas against the backdrop of digital chaos

Amell praised Greg Daniels for being able to give satisfying endings to complicated characters and wrap up the story.

Robbie’s Thoughts on Closing a Chapter 

Amell discussed how surreal it was to complete the show. He got teary-eyed discussing the long-time cast & crew that had been there since the first few seasons.
While he had not seen the finale quite yet by the time of the interview, he mentioned he was going to watch it with friends and family on August 25, creating a personal closing.
