Love Island USA Season 7 has now entered its most iconic moment — and here’s the twist: it’s Casa Amor! Like all the previous seasons, this is integral to the original idea of the show and the ever-complicated love relationships being developed in the villa. This year, instead of sending the guys to Casa Amor, the producers flipped the idea by sending girls to Casa Amor first. Apparently, the producers think that it’s time to ramp up the drama when the islanders have nothing going on.

For the first time in the U.S. version of the show, the women actually moved out of the main villa and went to Casa Amor, where they met six other male islanders. In the meantime, the original guys were left at the main villa for new female bombshells in episode 7. The format twist created a new level of drama and tension between existing couples, who had anyone but their couples to flirt with!

Before the twist, two couples—Ace and Chelley and Nic and Cierra—showed a strong chemistry, and now with the twist, neither couple can be certain if their feeling is strong enough to stand up to the separation. New contestants are also coming in, and a lot has been made of their inclusion, specifically 30-year-old Zak Srakaew from Big Brother UK, who has generated buzz among the audiences at home. There's a hint that Zak's confidence and good looks could stir the dynamics in the villa.

To all that, host Ariana Madix has revealed an upgraded Casa Amor villa and a hidden room that features a wall that rotates — a unique way for producers to create decision-making opportunities and moments of intimacy away from the prying eyes of the villa. The producers have said the new villa is designed to create loyalty challenges and emotional pressure for the islanders.

Episodes of the Casa Amor twist started airing on June 23 with episodes running daily on Peacock at 9 p.m. ET Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This phase of the season normally lasts about four days, leading to a recoupling ceremony when every islander will have to decide to either stay with their original partner or recouple with someone new.

The show's tense decision-making format and the changes made this season have made decision-making by the contestants difficult and unpredictable. At each recoupling, contestants risk being dumped from the island based on their partner's decision and contestants make sudden exits and emotional decisions that add to the suspense of why Casa Amor is a fan-favourite twist every season.

While in-show engagement peaked at this year's Casa Amor twist, viewer or fan engagement has also grown. Fans are able to vote via the Peacock app, for the first time a contestant will be dumped or stay on the island. This interactive feature has become a franchise unit for contributing to storylines, incorporating viewers/members as contributors to storylines!

Some fans are taking their support offline as well. Watch parties have been spotted across the country, including in cities like San Antonio, where local bars are screening episodes. The show’s popularity continues to grow as it moves beyond television and into real-life social spaces.

Love Island USA Season 7 will also expand with a spin-off titled Love Island: Beyond the Villa, set to debut later this summer. The series aims to follow contestants after their time on the show, exploring how relationships evolve outside the villa environment.

As Casa Amor continues to unfold, viewers can expect high-stakes choices, emotional fallout, and potential shakeups that could change the direction of the season. Whether islanders remain loyal or pursue new connections, the impact of this twist will be felt long after the villas are reunited.
