OMG! The Wicked: For Good Trailer is HERE!

Okay, folks, let's be honest – we've been practically vibrating with anticipation for this one. The trailer for Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s blockbuster Wicked, has finally dropped, and… well, it's everything I hoped for and more.

Picking Up Where We Left Off

The trailer immediately plunges us back into the action. It's right after the first movie ended – Elphaba (the incredible Cynthia Erivo), is now public enemy number one, branded the Wicked Witch of the West after her showdown with the Wizard (a delightfully devious Jeff Goldblum).

There’s a seriously tense scene where Glinda (Ariana Grande, sounding absolutely angelic as always), warns Elphaba, "Elphaba, they're coming for you." And you know things are about to get messy.

We see Elphaba in hiding, bravely fighting back against the Wizard's lies. Meanwhile, it looks like Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), might be hunting her down—the romantic tension is palpable! The trailer cleverly weaves in snippets of the heartbreaking duet "For Good" (sung by Erivo and Grande, giving me all the feels), and a taste of Erivo's powerful rendition of "No Good Deed."

  • Key moments seen in the trailer: Elphaba's defiance, Glinda's worry, a possible Fiyero betrayal (I hope not!), and those AMAZING vocals.
  • Confirmed appearances: We get a glimpse of Dorothy and her crew – the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Toto! I'm dying to know who plays Dorothy!

Why Two Movies?

Director Jon M. Chu explained why they made this into two movies. Honestly, I was a little confused at first. But it makes sense. It was “impossible,” he said, to cram everything from the beloved stage musical into just one film. They filmed both movies back-to-back—smart move!

Chu’s point is that trying to cut songs or characters would’ve ruined the magic of the story, so they wisely decided to give themselves the space they needed. And after the success of the first film (US$755 million worldwide!), I'm more than happy they did!

The Details Matter

Wicked: For Good hits theaters November 21st. The cast is phenomenal – we get to see Erivo and Grande again, plus Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, and more!

The trailer is already a massive hit online. It’s got stunning visuals, captivating performances, and a story that’s clearly going to take us on an emotional rollercoaster. It’s clear the filmmakers have preserved the beauty of the original story while making it its own thing. I, for one, am completely sold.

Go See It!

Honestly, this trailer has officially launched me into full-blown hype mode. If you loved the first Wicked movie, you need to watch this trailer. And then prepare yourself for November 21st because it’s going to be epic!
