The Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition returns in 2025, with another set of styling changes and features for SUV fans around India. Bookings are open for customers, and they will notice an updated sportier and more premium look that makes the special edition Fortuner stand out from regular variants. Let’s break down the new elements as well as what carries over from the previous iterations.
Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition 2025: What’s New?
It arrives with new styling and new features, but the Toyota mechanical set-up carries over to the Leader Edition. The powertrain and mechanical specs are unchanged, and it’s the updated design language, and better interior, that provide a unique road presence.
Key Changes and Features:
- The 2025 Leader Edition will have a redesigned grille with bold ‘FORTUNER’ lettering, chrome accents on the spoiler, and a sleeker front and rear bumper for a more sporty feel.
- Customers can expect four dual-tone paint options: Attitude black, Super White, Pearl White and Silver, all with an exclusive black roof treatment.
- The exterior update will include glossy black alloy wheels and an iconic hood emblem to decide the overall exterior into a more contemporary look.
- The cabin will now have a new dual-tone Black-and-Maroon theme for the interior instead of the beige or black interiors found on other standard Fortuner models.
- The features include illuminated scuff plates, auto folding ORVMs, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that still isn’t available on the non-leader variants.
The Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition still has the usual convenience and safety features, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment (with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, cruise control, wireless charging, and seven airbags. You will also find electronic stability control, hill hold assist, traction control, ISOFIX anchors, and rear parking sensors.

The Leader Edition offers exclusive styling tweaks, a new interior color, additional feature upgrades, as well as a host of special cosmetic details to the well-tested diesel RWD Fortuner. From a mechanical standpoint, there are no differences in the core engine and gearbox combination as compared to old toyota fortuner, but the added sporty appearance pack and features provide it with a unique identity from standard models. It should be expected that the recommended pricing will be Rs 50,000 more than the standard 4x2 variants, with Toyota set to reveal the official pricing very soon.

With a refreshed exterior design highlighted by a sportier grille, black roof, gloss black alloy wheels, and a new 'Fortuner' hood emblem, the 2025 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition looks very different to the previous model. The interior features a new black and maroon dual-tone colour theme, illuminated scuff plates, auto-folding mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system, to name a few enhancements. Power is provided exclusively by the tried and tested 2.8-litre diesel engine and paired only with rear-wheel drive and, as such, reliability does not change. There is no official pricing yet, but the Leader Edition will receive a modest premium over the petrol or diesel versions of the Fortuner. It is aimed at potential buyers who want more distinctive looks or comfort features from a premium SUV.
