The updated MG Hector is set to debut in India on December 15, 2025, marking its second major facelift since the SUV first hit showrooms in 2019. The latest version aims to give Hector a fresh lease of life with cosmetic changes, upgraded tech and a more premium feel — something that could help regain attention in India’s crowded mid-size SUV market.
Style makeover — What’s new on the outside
The 2026 Hector brings noticeable updates to its design without going for a full overhaul. Up front, there’s a redesigned grille with a new hexagonal / honeycomb-inspired pattern plus bold chrome slats — a shift from the older diamond-mesh grille. Both the front and rear bumpers get a refresh, which gives the SUV a more modern, slightly bolder look.
Inside the cabin — Tech boost & comfort upgrades
MG hasn’t held back on improvements to the cabin either. The facelifted Hector is expected to carry over its large 14-inch portrait infotainment touchscreen, but this time with a much faster system (rumoured to come with up to 10 GB RAM) for smoother response and multitasking.
New features likely include gesture controls — think adjusting volume, fan speed or music with swipe motions — bringing a smartphone-like experience to your ride.There are also talk of ventilated seats (front and rear), improved upholstery and premium trims, giving the interior a more luxurious feel.
Powertrain & driving bits — What stays the same
As this is a facelift rather than a full redesign, the mechanicals remain unchanged. The Hector will continue offering:
-
1.5-litre turbo petrol (with options of 6-speed manual or CVT) — around 141 bhp / 250 Nm;
-
2.0-litre turbo diesel (6-speed manual) — roughly 168 bhp / 350 Nm torque.
No changes in engine or gearbox mean driving dynamics and performance should remain familiar, but the added features and styling might give it a fresh appeal.
