Mercedes-AMG’s electric sedan packs 1,000+ hp, V8-style sound, and supercar performance—delivering emotion and power in the new EV performance era.

Mercedes-AMG is officially making a splash in the EV space—and they're coming in loud. Their latest offering? A full electric super sedan with over 1,000 horsepower and plenty of attitude. This thing will pack more than just a punch—it will keep the spirit of the AMG brand alive in an era more focused on battery-powered vehicles.

Let's discuss.

Power with Some More Punch

This new AMG EV is going to use three (or maybe four) electric motors from Yasa, a UK-based company producing lightweight axial-flux motors that deliver high torque in a very small package. These powertrains should push the sedan from 0-60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds. Yes, that's supercar now.

Why this is important:

  • It directly confronts the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and Audi RS e-tron GT.
  • It places a level of performance that is more than about just speed, but more about proving AMG is able to redefine performance in the electric age.
  • The instant application of torque and zero lag means it will feel fast, agile, and down right ferocious in speed.

EV You Can Actually Get Emotionally Connected To

One of the biggest complaint of EVs? They are quiet... too quiet. But AMG knows their drivers want more than speed, they want drama. That's why this sedan will imitate the fabled V8 engine dynamics, including:

  • An awe-inspiring exhaust-like sound
  • Simulated gear shifts
  • Live vibration and feedback through pedals and steering wheel

Why does it matter:

  • It renews the emotional relationship with driving.
  • Traditional AMG drivers who are missing the V8 growl.
  • You will still feel every rev even when there is no engine under the hood.

Developed from the Ground Up for Performance

Rather than having adapted an existing platform like most EVs, this AMG is being developed on a new, EV-specific platform called AMG.EA.

Here’s how this affects you:

  • Lower center of gravity → better handling
  • Better weight distribution → better cornering
  • More room for styling modifications → sleeker, more aggressive look
  • Designed just for speed, not solely for efficiency

Electric SUV Coming Too

AMG has big plans for performance--and they won't stop at sedans. After this super sedan comes to market, there will be a performance electric SUV. It will use the same motors, platform, and most likely the same V8-inspired experience.

For families and utility lovers:

  • So you can get the performance without compromising space.
  • A great choice if you want an all-electric AMG that isn't restricted in practicality.
  • Expect a late 2026 launch in the U.S.

FAQ

It presents serious power and unique driving experience—replicating the emotional feel of a V8 through sound and simulated gear changes.

Yes, on paper we plan to compete directly with the Taycan Turbo S, and some very early specifications suggest it could be quicker.

No. It is fully electric but replicates the sound and mechanical shifts to recapture the driving experience of the V8.

It will run three, and potentially four Yasa axial motors that are designed for high performance, compactness, and light weight.

Nope. It is built on a newly developed, AMG exclusive electric architecture, not based on EQ vehicles.

Yes, we expect an all electric SUV version very soon after the sedan.

The U.S. launch is expected by early 2026 following its global debut in late 2025.

Even though it won't have a real engine, it will have simulated sounds similar to a V8 so that you have a distinct AMG experience.
