With plenty of hope and excitement, the Oregon Ducks men's basketball team has now begun the 2025-26 season. On November 4, 2025, the Ducks hosted the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in Matthew Knight Arena, now commencing an important timeframe of 30 games, all with the hopes of a deep season in the NCAA tournament and Big Ten conference play.

Strong Oregon Basketball Roster for 2025 Season

The Ducks have a lot of familiar faces returning with depth and experience. Among those returning are all-conference guard Jackson Shelstad, senior center Nate Bittle, and top recruit forward Kwame Evans Jr., who will be the faces of the program. Jackson Shelstad is a flat-out shot-maker and playmaker who averaged 13 points, 2 rebounds, and almost 3 assists a season ago. At 7 feet tall, Nate Bittle is a dominant paint presence and was listed in the Top 20 Preseason Watch List for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award.

The roster also includes shooting guard Wei Lin, who last played for the Chinese Basketball Association. Lin averaged over 20 points per game while playing in China, and will bring additional scoring and versatility to the Ducks' offensive attack. Coach Dana Altman is in his 16th year and has led the Ducks program to many seasons with over 20 wins and competitive seasons.

Season Opener Highlights And Expectations

The Ducks began their season on November 4 against Hawaii, displaying Oregon’s prowess with solid performances from the returners. They hope to add to last year’s good 25-10 record, which was aided by a narrow loss in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Paradoxically, fans of the Ducks are hoping that the prudent offensive and defensive strategies that developed under Altman can carry the team into a deeper postseason run.
