Honestly, a lot of people weren’t sure if he’d do it, but he just dominated. Like, from the start, he controlled the match. Jey did fight back here and there, but it wasn’t enough. One huge powerbomb followed by a lariat, and that was it — Gunther pinned him clean in the middle of the ring. And now, he’s champion again.
It kinda felt like Jey was almost there, but not quite. The crowd was behind him, for sure. But Gunther just looked like a machine. No wasted movement, no hesitation. You could just tell he was locked in. It’ll be interesting to see how long this second title run lasts — and who steps up next.

Cena and Punk Had a Face-Off — That Felt Real
This was one of those segments where it didn’t feel scripted, you know? Cena came out, and then Punk walked out, and suddenly the whole energy in the arena shifted. Punk basically challenged him for a match at Night of Champions, and Cena just gave that serious look — you know the one. Like, this is real now.
Seth Rollins popped in too and reminded everyone he still has the Money in the Bank briefcase, so things could go either way. I mean, if Cena and Punk actually fight at that event and Seth cashes in? That’s chaos. But also classic WWE.
This feels like one of those storylines that could actually go somewhere big. Not just a one-night deal.
King and Queen of the Ring Tournament Matches
The tournament matches tonight were pretty solid. On the men's side, AJ Styles had a great match with Chad Gable. Honestly, Gable looked sharp, but AJ pulled it off in the end. He's now moving on in the King of the Ring bracket.
For the women’s tournament, Roxanne Perez won her Fatal 4-Way. It was fast-paced and had a lot going on, but Roxanne looked really confident. She definitely earned it. Feels like WWE is starting to give her a legit push.
Here’s a quick rundown:
-
AJ Styles beat Chad Gable — moves on in King of the Ring
-
Roxanne Perez won the Women’s Fatal 4-Way
-
Next week: Asuka’s returning for another 4-Way match — that could be wild
Bayley and R-Truth Both Returned — Totally Different Vibes
So two returns happened, and they couldn’t have been more different. R-Truth came back and did his usual funny stuff near the commentary table. Crowd loved it. It’s always good to have him back — it breaks the tension.
Then there’s Bayley. She came back too, but way more serious. She attacked Becky Lynch out of nowhere after Becky was celebrating. It wasn’t a match or anything, just a sneak attack. Classic heel move. Looks like that feud is heating up again, and maybe Becky’s title reign is already in danger.
Honestly, it’s kinda nice to see the women’s division getting more layers again. Not just quick matches — actual stories.
What to Watch for Next

In short:

Gunther is champ again.
-
Cena vs Punk might actually happen.
-
Seth Rollins could cash in at any moment.
-
Tournaments heating up.
-
Big returns added some spice.
