Harley Reid Signs 2 Year Extension with Eagles Until 2028

West Coast Eagles rising star Harley Reid has officially committed his future to the club by signing a two-year extension that keeps him at the Eagles through the end of the 2028 AFL season. This edition to his existing contract ends speculation linking him to a return to Victoria with clubs like St Kilda and others.

At the press conference, Reid stated, “I’m incredibly excited to sign on with this great Club. Since the day I arrived … the support from our coaches and my teammates has been amazing. I can’t wait for the 2026 season and beyond.”

Why Harley Reid Decided to Stay with West Coast Eagles

Reid’s decision holds significance beyond the field. Reports surfaced that St Kilda reportedly dangled a record-breaking $25 million over 12 years to lure the 20-year-old back to Victoria—the largest contract offer ever proposed in AFL history. 

Equally noteworthy is the fact that the Eagles had initially considered a much larger 11-year extension worth up to $24 million, though ultimately opted for the safer two-year term, reportedly offering Reid roughly $2 million per season.
