Daniil Medvedev's highly anticipated match against Benjamin Bonzi at the US Open was delayed a short six minutes before starting play. The reason was put down to a small issue on court, which was quickly fixed by US Open officials.
As fans at Flushing Meadows waited just a little longer to see former champion Medvedev and France's Bonzi take to the court, the good news was that the match proceeded soon after without a further delay, and neither player appeared bothered or fatigued by the slightly longer wait time.
Organizers Statement Regarding the Delay
Reference to the situation, US Open officials said the delay was simply "technical preparations" on court, adding there was not an issue with the players. Short delays like this are quite common in Grand Slam tournaments, especially with preparations squeezed in-between matches on multiple courts.

6 MINUTES. MATCH POINT. ICE-COLD ARM. If chaos stops play, give a neutral reset timeout or a serve clock for delays... what rule would you add to keep this from deciding matches .

What This Means for the Match
While a six-minute delay seems quite small, tennis players tend to be very habitual for their warm up times, and being on-court together with their timings, to start on time. That said, both players rang into their rhythm very quickly within the first set of the match, and the short delay he didn't hinder their focus!
