Signed and sealed, the astonishing Riverfire 2025 fireworks is set to ignite the glorious skyline of Brisbane as one of the grandest shows in Queensland. Thousands of visitors and natives alike, have the opportunity to welcome the festivities of the Brisbane Festival and annual Riverfire in a scintillating manner. A major highlight of the festival, the artistic integration of fireworks is set to be launched from strategically set barges moored on the banks of the river, roofs and the Brisbane bridges, ensuring a breathtaking spectacle and view from plenty of spaces and angles, all of which are accessible to the general public. 

The grand display of fireworks is set to commence August 30, 2025 from 7:00 PM. The pre-fire works show includes an impressive showcase from the Royal Australia Airforce and is scheduled to begin from 5 PM. 

Best Viewing Spots for Riverfire Fireworks

The Broad Riverfire, South Bank Parklands and the Howard Smith Resorts; a few of the highly recommended vantage points for Rohon Events, from which the fireworks can be viewed easily.If someone cannot attend the event, it can be watched live on Channel 9 and live streamed on the internet.   

Road Closures and Public Transport  

To aid in safety and the management of people, there will be numerous road closures in the CBD and South Bank from the afternoon until late evening. In addition, there will be additional buses, ferries, and trains in the evening, and the police recommend people use public transport.  

What Makes River fire Special?  

Riverfire is more than just a fireworks event. It unites people, celebrates the culture of the city, and is the starting point for the month of the Brisbane Festival, which celebrates art and performance. It is distinguished from other events on the world’s stage because of the RAAF aerial displays and the fireworks that are intricately woven with music.

Transportation and Travel Post-Event  

Given the extensive closures to vehicles, public transport is encouraged as a means of travel to the event.  

After the event, you can take advantage of the added buses and trains. There is free bus and train service from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM to participants coming from South Bank and the city. This does not include the City Cat and Airtrain services.

As scheduled, buses will Depart from Loganholme every 30 minutes from 12:30 to 5:30 PM PM for South Bank.

River Fire

Why will nearly 500,00 people tune into this event? 

The Riverfire is Timed around the start of the Brisbane festival, incorporating drone choreography with new Firework shows. Also, new ADF partnerships.

Bonus Tips for Spectators 

  • The closing South Bank will reach capacity, so the first few hundred patrons will be able to enter after 9am.
  • Public areas with no license to serve alcohol will not be able to serve alcohol or provide refuge from the sun. 
  • Rain or shine, as long as wind speed dosn't pose a risk to the people or the performers.
