Haribo, the popular candy brand, is recalling some of their Happy Cola F!ZZ sweets in the Netherlands. And it’s not for the usual reasons like a wrong label or allergy info. This time, it’s because traces of cannabis were found in some of the 1kg bags. Yep, actual cannabis.
Honestly, it sounds shocking, right? A few people, including some kids, started feeling dizzy after eating the candy. That’s when it started raising red flags. Authorities looked into it and found out that the sweets really did have something in them that shouldn't be there.
What We Know So Far
Here’s the deal — the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) stepped in and confirmed that the sweets were real Haribo products. Like, not some fake version or anything. But no one knows yet how the cannabis got in there. That’s still being figured out.

So, if you happen to have that bag at home, don’t eat it. Haribo’s asking people to send them back and they’ll give you a full refund. They’re also working with the authorities to get to the bottom of it.

Is This Happening Everywhere?
Nope — not at all. Right now, it’s just in the Netherlands. If you’re in another country, you’re probably fine. No other Haribo sweets or packs from other places have been mentioned in the recall.
But still, it kind of makes you wonder, right? Like how does something like this even happen at such a big company? People trust brands like Haribo, especially with candy that’s often given to kids. So this recall has definitely caught a lot of attention.
This Isn’t The First Time
To be real, this isn’t the first issue Haribo’s had. Back in October 2024, they had to recall their Tangfastics gummies in Canada. That time it wasn’t cannabis, but wood pieces — yeah, like little bits of actual wood — were found inside the sweets.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency told people to stop eating them right away. It’s strange that these things keep happening, especially with such a well-known candy brand.
Final Thoughts
It’s always a little scary when stuff like this pops up — especially with food and snacks. Even if it’s rare, it makes people more cautious. So if you or someone you know has a bag of Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ lying around, especially that 1kg one with the code and date listed above, it’s best to return it.
