A destructive shooting occurred in Tremonton, Utah, Friday evening, claiming the life of one man. According to investigators with the Tremonton Police Department, officers arrived at the scene following a 911 call just after 6:30 p.m. on August 16, 2025, in the vicinity of 300 East and Main Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement found a man who had been shot. Lifesaving efforts were initiated at the scene, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased.

The victim was identified as a 38-year-old male from Box Elder County, who his family has not been named at this time while authorities notify family members. The suspected shooter has been identified as a 41-year-old male and was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. The Tremonton Police Department has initiated a full investigation, in coordination with the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office and the Utah State Bureau of Investigation. Officers from throughout the area are interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence from the location of the crime.
