Hello Readers, Did you hear? Pakistan demolished a historic 125-year-old gurudwara!
A 125-year-old Sikh shrine, Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sahib in Farooqabad, Punjab, Pakistan, was reportedly demolished without the required government permission. The demolition triggered protests from members of the Sikh community. Pakistan's Punjab government acknowledged that part of the gurdwara had been demolished, ordered an inquiry into the incident, and announced that the shrine would be restored. India condemned the demolition, called for the restoration of the site, and urged Pakistan to take action against those responsible while ensuring the protection of Sikh religious heritage. What else? No doubt Pakistan involved in Pahalgam: ex-RA&W chief!
Former R&AW chief Amarjit Singh Dulat asserted that he has “no doubt” Pakistan was behind the Pahalgam terror attack, reaffirming his belief while addressing an event in Delhi. At the same time, he argued that India should continue engaging with Pakistan through dialogue, saying communication remains essential even with hostile neighbours. Dulat maintained that sustained diplomatic engagement is necessary to manage tensions and reduce the risk of further conflict. His remarks came during a discussion on a joint peace appeal endorsed by prominent citizens from both countries. What else? POK not part of Pakistan: POK protesters!
Protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) publicly declared that the region is not a part of Pakistan, demanding recognition of their political identity and rights. Demonstrators raised slogans rejecting Pakistan’s control and called for greater autonomy and self-determination. Videos circulating online showed participants criticizing Islamabad’s governance and expressing dissatisfaction over economic conditions and administrative policies. The protests highlighted growing local discontent over governance, resource allocation, and political representation. Pakistani authorities have not issued a detailed response to the claims made by the protesters in the circulated footage. What else? Pakistan has issued threats over Indus Waters!
Pakistan has intensified its rhetoric over the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, warning that any attempt to restrict its water supply could destabilise regional security. At an international seminar in Islamabad, officials accused India of “weaponising water” and urged the global community to uphold the treaty, calling it essential to international legal norms. Pakistani leaders reiterated that interference with agreed water flows would be viewed as a grave threat, while India has maintained its suspension of the treaty following security concerns stemming from the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack. What else? TTP launched drone strikes in northern Pakistan!?
A drone strike in Pakistan’s northwestern Bajaur district killed three members of a family and injured ten others on Thursday, intensifying concerns over the growing use of weaponized commercial drones in the region. While no group claimed responsibility, Pakistani officials said such attacks increasingly bear the hallmarks of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which they accuse of adapting drones to drop explosives on security forces and civilian targets. The incident comes amid escalating militancy and cross-border tensions, with Islamabad continuing to blame the TTP for the expanding drone threat in northern Pakistan. People want India and Pakistan to hold bilateral talks!! A group of 117 prominent citizens from India and Pakistan, including politicians, diplomats, academics and civil society leaders, has written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urging both governments to restore dialogue and normal bilateral relations. The signatories called for reinstating High Commissioners, resuming visa services, reopening airspace and reviving trade and people-to-people exchanges. They argued that prolonged hostility has harmed millions by limiting opportunities, prosperity and regional stability, adding that the continued absence of meaningful diplomatic engagement is both deeply concerning and shocking. Speaking of shocking, did you hear? Only 40% freshers secure a Rs 5 LPA package today!! The latest Unstop Talent Report 2026, which gathered inputs from 500+ HR leaders and almost 40,000 students, revealed a brutal story:-
Interestingly, this finding is even though 88% companies are actively hiring while 90% have maintained or increased their hiring budgets! So, companies want to hire but aren’t hiring?? According to Ankit Aggarwal, founder and CEO of Unstop, the decline in salaries is not a crash, but a “structural correction”. He claims that degrees were once considered a sign of potential, but companies are done paying for potential, as they want to pay for ‘Day One’ contribution. Companies are done paying for candidates with high CGPAs or college tags, as they now want proof of capability. In fact, 94% employers are said to have reportedly moved away from the pedigree-based hiring and are now moving to a skill-based hiring as those are the basis for determining salary packages. So what to do? The only answer is to upskill. The time to stay relaxed and reliant on your degree is over, as HRs are hiring based purely on skill instead of great grades. In terms of engineering, candidates need to upskill by learning skills for Data Analysis or Full Stack Development. For MBAs with an interest in helping companies, they must practically learn Management Consulting and Product Management skills. Finally, finance specialists must learn Financial Modelling to target jobs like those of an Investment Banker or Investment Analyst. So what are you waiting for?
