Hello Readers,

Did you hear?

POK is witnessing massive protests!

Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) has witnessed widespread protests led by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) against the reservation of 12 legislative seats for Kashmiri refugees living outside the region and broader concerns over political representation and governance. Demonstrations, strikes, and shutdowns have affected Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Mirpur, and other towns. Security forces imposed internet restrictions, arrested activists, and banned JAAC. According to Reuters and local authorities, clashes have killed at least 11 people and injured more than 70, including protesters and security personnel. Some regional media outlets have reported casualty figures exceeding 30 deaths and 200 injuries. What else?

Pakistan carried out airstrikes on Afghanistan!

Pakistan recently carried out airstrikes in Afghanistan’s eastern Khost, Kunar, and Paktika provinces, targeting sites it identified as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) command centers, training camps, and logistical facilities. The operation involved multiple precision strikes on compounds allegedly used to shelter and coordinate militants responsible for attacks inside Pakistan. Pakistani authorities stated that the strikes eliminated 26 militants and destroyed key infrastructure used for planning and launching cross-border operations. The action followed a series of deadly TTP attacks on Pakistani security personnel and was intended to disrupt militant networks operating from Afghan territory and reduce their operational capability. What did Afghanistan say?

Pakistan’s airstrikes targeted civilians!?

Afghanistan’s Taliban government condemned Pakistan’s June 2026 airstrikes as a “humanitarian crime,” reporting 13 civilian deaths—including 11 children—and 14 others wounded, then retaliated with drone strikes on Pakistani military sites near Islamabad, Nowshera, and Abbottabad, plus border incursions and check-post attacks. The UN, via UNAMA, confirmed the casualties (mostly women and children) and urged immediate de-escalation, a durable ceasefire, civilian protection, and dialogue under international law. Pakistan claimed its strikes targeted TTP militant camps, while the Taliban accused it of deliberately targeting civilians, including a university campus attack. What did India say?

India has voiced support for Afghanistan!

India strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent airstrikes in Afghanistan, voicing firm support for Kabul’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the United Nations, India described the strikes as “flagrant violations of international law, the UN Charter and the principle of state sovereignty.” New Delhi further asserted that “dressing up a massacre as a military operation does not absolve those responsible” and stressed that “killing civilians is not counter-terrorism.” Reaffirming its commitment to the Afghan people, India called for respect for international law and emphasized that regional security cannot be achieved through actions that inflict civilian suffering. What else?

Pakistan-China failed to declare the BLA as terrorists!

Pakistan and China recently failed in their effort to secure a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) designation of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its Majeed Brigade faction under the 1267 sanctions regime. The proposal was blocked by the United States, reportedly with support from the United Kingdom and France, which argued that the evidence presented did not establish links between the BLA and internationally sanctioned groups such as Al-Qaeda or ISIS—a key requirement for listing under the regime. This was a major setback to both powers as the BLA is known to attack CPEC projects in a bid to free Balochistan! What else?

India-Pakistan could wage war over the Indus water!?

India is exploring plans to maximize its utilization of waters from the Indus river system, including the expansion of storage capacity, irrigation networks, and diversion infrastructure on rivers governed by the Indus Waters Treaty. The initiative comes amid heightened tensions and India's decision to suspend participation in the treaty. Pakistan has strongly objected to any measures that could reduce downstream water flows, arguing that they would endanger its agriculture, economy, and water security. Pakistani officials have warned that any such move would be viewed as an “act of war,” raising concerns over the implications of these developments for regional stability.
